Brain Health for All Ages: Reflections from World Brain Day 2025
World Brain Day 2025 brought global attention to the importance of brain health at every stage of life—a mission we share at Nordic Brain Tech
On July 22nd, leaders in neurology and public health gathered for World Brain Day 2025, this year themed “Brain Health for All Ages.” The global webinar, hosted by the World Federation of Neurology and supported by the World Health Organization, emphasized the importance of brain health throughout the lifespan—from preconception through old age.
At Nordic Brain Tech, this message resonates deeply with our mission: to promote early intervention, accessible digital tools, and holistic prevention strategies that empower individuals to care for their brains every day.
Brain Health Across the Life Course
The session opened with a powerful reminder: “There is no health without brain health.” Brain disorders affect over 3.4 billion people worldwide (Global Burden of Disease, Injuries, and Risk Factor Study from 2021), and many—such as migraine, stroke, dementia, and epilepsy—can be prevented or better managed with early action.
The event brought together global experts to highlight the importance of brain health across the lifespan, emphasizing awareness, prevention, advocacy, and education. Speakers from every world region shared practical strategies and urgent challenges—from school-based programs to systemic barriers in care access. The discussion reinforced that improving brain health requires global collaboration, early intervention, and inclusive approaches.
“Life’s 10 for Brain Health”: A Guide to Prevention
A key takeaway from the webinar was the presentation of 10 lifestyle factors that support long-term brain health:
- Sleep well
- Eat healthy
- Be physically active
- Be socially active and connected
- Manage stress
- Don’t smoke
- Manage cholesterol
- Manage blood sugar
- Manage blood pressure
- Maintain a healthy weight and waist circumference
Stress management was particularly emphasized—highlighting an important intersection with migraine, a condition closely linked to stress and lifestyle.
Migraine: An Essential Part of the Brain Health Conversation
While the webinar focused on a wide range of neurological conditions, it’s important to recognize that migraine also deserves a central role in discussions of brain health. Affecting over one billion people globally, migraine is one of the most common and disabling neurological disorders—and one that often begins early in life.
At Nordic Brain Tech, we view migraine not just as a medical condition, but as a key indicator of how stress, sleep, and daily routines affect overall brain health. By including migraine in the broader conversation, we can advance public awareness and prevention for a condition that touches millions across most age groups.
