Beyond the Pill: Exploring Pharma’s Digital Future at LSX Nordic Congress
For the first time, the LSX Nordic Congress took place in Norway, gathering innovators, investors, and thought leaders in life sciences and digital health.
Our CEO and Co-Founder, Cathrine Ro Heuch, joined a forward-looking panel discussion titled “Going Beyond the Pill – Integrating Digital Health & DTx Solutions into Pharma.”
The session, held in Bergen on 20–21 May 2025, explored how pharmaceutical companies are partnering with digital therapeutics (DTx) and digital health players – and whether the future of care lies in combination products that unite medications with software. Cathrine was joined on the panel by Taher Hassen, Managing Director / GM Norway and Northern Cluster Head at Merck, in a discussion moderated by Ann-Kathrin von Knobloch, Digital Health Expert at Flying Health.
At Nordic Brain Tech, we don’t produce medications– instead, we deliver drug-free biofeedback therapy and a digital diary tool, Brain Twin, to help migraine and headache patients understand and manage their condition. While not a pharmaceutical company, we see a powerful role for digital therapeutics alongside, and sometimes instead of traditional treatments.
As Cathrine emphasized during the discussion: “Digital health solutions can bepowerful toolsin helping patients increase adherence and track outcomes. With products like Brain Twin, we are improving the overall patient pathway for migraine patients.”
The Path Forward: A Shared Opportunity
The panel raised critical questions for the future of healthcare:
- Can DTx become a commercially viable, scalable part of pharma’s core strategy?
- What regulatory and reimbursement paths are needed for combination therapies?
- How do we enable meaningful collaboration between agile health-tech startups and global pharma players?
One clear message emerged: the future of health isn’t just about better pills – it’s about better care journeys. And that requires tools that extend beyond pharmacology, tapping into behavioral science, real-time data, and patient-centered design.
At Nordic Brain Tech, we believe in this vision. We see immense potential in drug-free digital therapies and intelligent tools that help patients navigate complex conditions like migraine. But for these innovations to reach their full potential, the ecosystem – from regulators to pharma to payers – must embrace a broader definition of what effective treatment looks like.
Digital health solutions can bepowerful tools in helping patients increase adherence and track outcomes.
As the conversation continues, we’re proud to be part of the movement redefining what’s possible in care:beyond the pill, and into the future.
